The Walking Dead
This show follows a group of people trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse. Throughout the series, the group fights off zombies while trying to find a way to live normal lives. They lose many people but also gain them. The group must also fight off other groups of people who are looking for resouces and are willing to do whatever it takes to survive. In this show, there are many theories on why people turn into zombies. One being that it is a virus. Another being that it was a "space spore".
Resident Evil
Resident Evil is a video game and also has many spin off shows and movies. The basis of these are all the same. That a company known as the Umbrella Corporation developed a mutagenic virus called the "T Virus" that not only effected people but animals as well. This virus made people mutate into mindless creatures. In pop culture, these games and shows genereally follow a small group of survivors that go into underground facilities owned by Umbrella Corp. to try and find a cure for the virus.
The Miami Cannibal
In May 2012, a homeless man was attacked on the MacArther Causeway in Miami, Florida. This man was attacked by Rudy Eugene. Eugene was a 31 year old man that lived his entire life in the Miami area. He had several criminal charges but nothing that compared to what happend on the Causeway that day. It was thought that drugs may have been the reason for the attack. In this attack, Rudy Eugene beat the homeless man until he was unconscious and then proceded to bite off most of the homeless mans face. Eugene was shot and killed after attempting to attack a Miami Police officer.
